What is a sustainability music professional?

A Sustainability Music professional works at the intersection of music and environmental responsibility. They focus on making the music industry more sustainable by reducing the environmental impact of music production, live events, touring, and merchandise. Their work may include advising artists and venues on eco-friendly practices, advocating for policy changes, and implementing green initiatives in music projects. This role combines knowledge of sustainability with a passion for music to create positive change in the industry.

How does a sustainability music professional typically collaborate with artists and organizations to promote eco-friendly initiatives in the music industry?

Sustainability music professionals often work closely with artists, event organizers, and record labels to integrate environmentally responsible practices into music production and events. This can involve advising on sustainable touring, reducing waste at concerts, sourcing eco-friendly merchandise, and implementing carbon offset programs. Collaboration is key, as these professionals must communicate effectively with creative teams, technical staff, and external partners to ensure that sustainability goals are met without compromising artistic vision. Regular meetings and progress updates are standard to keep all stakeholders aligned and to track the impact of sustainability initiatives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sustainability music specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sustainability Music Specialist, you need a solid understanding of environmental science, sustainable practices in the music industry, and experience in music production or event management. Job description

Music Therapist

Compass Crew | Life in Harmony Music Therapy

Life in Harmony Music Therapy is interested in connecting with music therapists who care deeply about meaningful work, excellent care, and finding a sustainable rhythm in their work.

As a member of our Compass Crew, you’ll provide relationship-centered, strengths-based care that helps clients and families orient, navigate, build capacity, and move toward what matters most to them.

We have full-time work available and also welcome conversations with people interested in part-time or other employment arrangements. Rather than assuming there is only one way a great fit has to look, we’re interested in learning what you’re looking for and exploring whether there is a strong match.

Our team serves people of all ages and needs through music therapy, wellness services, community partnerships, and Medicaid-funded programs. We work from beautiful, dedicated facilities while also providing services throughout the communities we serve.

We work hard, care deeply, and believe sustainability matters — for our clients, our team, and the quality of care we provide.
