Job description

St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a part-time Survey Research Interviewer. This position conducts phone interviews and collects/enters data from interviews on various survey projects, maintaining the quality, quantity, and confidentiality of the data.
Regular shifts are Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM, remotely or on campus. Weekend hours are available and usually optional, though they may be required 2-4 weekends per year. Hours are based on project needs and are typically heavier from June through February. In general, this position works 16 - 20 hours per week.
Specific responsibilities:
  • Conduct phone interviews to collect information for various research projects. Contact and ask questions of respondents over the telephone using survey questions that are standardized and must be read exactly as written.
  • Meet call center dialing quality and quantity goals. Maintain strict confidentiality of the information gathered.
  • Enter data from interviews into the database accurately, meeting quality and quantity goals.
  • Perform general and administrative office functions.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with interviewing either in person or over the phone is strongly preferred.
  • Dedicated to working in a mission-driven environment, with a profound respect for and commitment to preserving the rich traditions of Catholicism, Norbertine values, and the liberal arts.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Skilled at organizing projects and seeing them through to completion.
  • Ability to read clearly from a script with a professional telephone manner.
  • Interpersonal skills, including listening, rapport building, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to enter data quickly and accurately into an online system.
  • Ability to follow up with survey participants to obtain missing data or clarify existing data.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, especially Google Suite, and the ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.
  • Ability to sit and type for the majority of a shift.
