Job description

We are hiring an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support a growing civil engineering practice in. This is a predominantly field‑based role (approximately 90%) supporting a wide range of surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction layout, and transportation work.
Responsibilities
- Lead field survey operations for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction layout, and transportation projects
- Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Perform survey calculations and ensure data accuracy
- Review and download field data daily for office processing
- Coordinate with survey project managers to plan field work efficiently
- Communicate field conditions, progress, and issues clearly to internal teams
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of hands‑on field surveying experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a survey crew member
- Proficiency with GPS data collection and field‑to‑finish workflows
- Valid driver"s license
- Must be able to work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm
Preferences
- Field experience as a Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief
- Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson, and/or Civil 3D
- Experience processing field data, setting up stakeouts, and supporting office survey workflows
