Surplus Lines - Compliance
Subject matter expert for surplus lines placements
o All US jurisdictions
o State requirements for filing and payment
o State requirements for placements including but not limited to:
ยง Diligent effort
ยง Export list
ยง Exempt Commercial Purchaser
ยง Insured eligibility
ยง Home state determination
ยง State form completion
ยง Disclosure wording
โ€ข Management of surplus lines documents on our intranet site
โ€ข Research new areas or update existing research for surplus lines topics
โ€ข Working with production, underwriting and tax teams to ensure compliance with state and Federal law.
โ€ข Provide training for production teams and other support staff
โ€ข Maintain the tax calculator which feeds tax rates and rules into our operating system
โ€ข Working with internal and external IT sources to improve our processes - automation and streamlining
โ€ข Good communication and people skills are essential.
โ€ข Work well with compliance team members - collaboration and sharing knowledge
โ€ข Ability to deescalate problem situations and look for acceptable solutions from a sales and compliance standpoint
