Job description

As our Surgical Tech III, you will help as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure.

Every day you will demonstrates advanced skills in operating room technology and proficient knowledge of surgical procedures. You will be expected to Consistently demonstrates proper care and handling of instruments and equipment According to AAMI/ANSI Standards. Consistently demonstrates the principles of aseptic technique according to AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, FHMC policy and procedures and the guidelines described in Universal Precautions.

  • Demonstrates ability to serve as a preceptor and role model for new Surgical Technologist staff and Surgical Technologist students during their clinical rotations.

  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot equipment/instrument issues in collaboration with surgical team members.

Required

  • Completion of Surgical Technologist training.
  • Completion of Certification asSurgical Technologist
  • A minimum of three (3) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist., upon hire
  • Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire 
  • Technologist in Surgery-Certified, upon hire 
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
