Responsibilities
  • The Surgical Tech Student handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure under the direction of the Surgical Technician Preceptor.
  • He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
  • He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
