Job Summary
Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for the position of Surgical Technology Program Coordinator/Instructor. The Surgical Technology Program Coordinator/Instructor will provide coordination of and instruct courses within the Surgical Technology program.
Job Duties:
Duties to include but not limited to:
Deliver instruction, instructional activities, and prepare learning materials for courses each semester in accordance with approved curriculum.
Teach assigned courses which meet educational outcomes set by the College and regulatory bodies.
Use of technology and learning management systems to support instruction.
Complete instructional support processes such as syllabi development, course assessments, early interventions, and class organization.
Participate in professional development and college/department meetings.
Will provide coordination of the Surgical Technology program.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a minimum of an associate degree; and
Have documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning; and Essentials/Standards,
Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency,
Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA),
Have a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
