Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY
  • Department: Oral Surgery
  • Schedule: Full-time Days: Monday - Friday
  • Location: Detroit, MI

Assists the oral surgeon during medical procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists in preparation and set-up of for surgical procedures in the office and hospital operating rooms.
  • Monitors patients and assists with general anesthesia and IV sedation procedures in hospital and outpatient office settings.
  • Discusses post-operative instructions for care and management with the patient.
  • Relays post-operative complications/questions to surgeon.
  • Maintains surgical equipment.

Licensure / Certification / Registration: Preferred Credentials:
  • Dental Anest Asst Natl Cert credentialed from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
  • Dental Assistant credentialed from the Michigan Board of Dentistry
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.

Education Required:
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
