Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Steel Surface Grinder to join our team in Clinton Township, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for operating surface grinding machines to produce high-quality precision components. Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate surface grinding machines (Parker Majestic and Okamoto) to grind steel components to specified tolerances.
  • Read & interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Inspect in-process and finished products using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols at all times.
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or related field preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years proven experience as a surface grinder or in a similar machining role.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with low volume, high mix production environments
  • Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a machining environment.
  • Steady hand, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.
