We are looking for a Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst. The Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst is responsible for delivering market intelligence, competitive insights, and strategic analytics that support commercial decision-making across the cement business. This role serves as a key business partner to Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership by collecting and analyzing market data, maintaining critical industry relationships, developing actionable insights, and supporting strategic initiatives.

About the Role
Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
Develop and maintain comprehensive competitive intelligence on cement, slag, and related building materials markets.
Monitor competitor pricing, capacity changes, market expansions, product offerings, and strategic initiatives.
Create and maintain market share analyses and free-market matrices by region and customer segment.
Analyze market supply and demand fundamentals, customer trends, and regional market dynamics.
Deliver periodic competitive intelligence reports and executive summaries.
Commercial Analytics & Reporting
Develop, maintain, and enhance commercial dashboards and performance reporting.
Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pricing, profitability, and market trends.
Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from Sales Leadership and Executive Management.
Identify trends and business risks through proactive data analysis.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of commercial reporting and data governance.
Sales Partnership & Business Support
Serve as a strategic partner to the Cement leadership team by providing analytical support and recommendations.
Coordinate with Sales Vice Presidents; Directors and Regional teams to collect market intelligence and customer insights.
Support pricing initiatives through market analysis and scenario modeling.
Assist with customer profitability analyses and strategic account evaluations.
Participate in business reviews and strategic planning discussions.
Industry & Association Management
Serve as the primary liaison with industry associations, including the collection, reporting, and submission of required industry data.
Maintain relationships with industry organizations and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and market data published by associations.
Represent the company in industry forums and working groups as appropriate.
Strategic Planning & Growth Initiatives
Support the development of commercial strategies and long-term growth plans.
Develop business cases and financial models for strategic initiatives and capital projects.
Evaluate market opportunities, acquisition targets, and new product opportunities.
Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability, market share, and customer value propositions.
About You
We Require:
7-10+ years of proven experience in commercial analytics, strategy, finance, market intelligence, or business analysis.
Experience in cement, construction materials, aggregates, industrial manufacturing, or related industries strongly preferred.
Experience supporting commercial teams and executive leadership.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into actionable business recommendations.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
Experience with ERP and CRM systems (JDE preferred).
Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or related field required.
MBA preferred.
Strong financial modeling and forecasting capabilities.
Experience with database management and visualization tools.
Ability to analyze large data sets and communicate effectively.
