Job description

The Food Programs Support Manager assists the Food Programs Director's in all aspects of Food Programs management to ensure the provision of high-quality services in alignment with the agency mission through the supervision of the Food Programs Warehouse and Distribution team, functional management of the program, support of satellite kitchens, volunteer education and relations, and execution of programming, including receiving donations and food distribution. The MFS Manager also participates in program development and evaluation, resource and systems development, and community relations in support of the Program Director.
The schedule for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is Tuesday-Saturday 10:30am - 6:30pm
1-3 years supervisory/management experience in food services operations in social services or nonprofit organization.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in food service management or related field, or comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
Specific qualifications and responsibilities include;
  • Alignment with Preble Street's mission and Positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty
  • Lead shifts and manage all Mobile Food operations to ensure services are provided and staffing requirements are met.
  • Ensure that established sanitation and safety standards are adhered to and maintained.
  • Regularly work a full-time schedule, with consistent, predictable on-site attendance to meet program coverage needs, and work different and or extended shifts to meet program coverage needs, as needs arise.
  • Assist in food and supplies inventory system and procedures as directed by Food Programs Director.
  • ServSafe certification (must be obtained within 60 days of hire and continuously maintained thereafter).
  • Ability to drive a box truck and other agency vehicles with a valid driver's license and a good driving record; And ability to pack and unload trucks.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, with a pay rate of $30.78 /hour. Generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits include:
  • 4 weeks (160 hours, accrued) vacation time, 12 days (96 hours, accrued) sick time, 32 hours personal time, 12 Paid Holidays
