Job description

We are seeking an experienced chemical engineer to maintain, modify and upgrade the software model for ethylene plant cracking heaters including lifecycle management of the software and its application to projects.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and upgrade code for existing cracking heater model
Prepare software for integration with online applications
Liaison with optimization and process control application groups
Project management of modeling projects
Participation in sales efforts and marketing for modeling projects
Maintain and improve graphical user interface for existing cracking heater modelย 
Lead execution of projects to deliver models to licensees
- Configure, modify, tune, test, document, train, install
Debug technical issues and address software defects and change requests
Support existing licensees with maintenance and upgrades over the lifecycle of their existing models
Maintain software records and releases
Coordinate with process design teams to maintain model consistent with latest technical developmentsย 
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering (minimum); M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering preferred
10 years of work experience in ethylene process engineering including minimum 5+ years ofย 
- Fortran 77, Visual Basic, C++, Python programming experience
- Coding process simulation models and user interfaces
- Solid working knowledge of kinetics, heat transfer, and chemical process design
Ability to translate and maintain requirements into functioning code
Strong background in fundamental chemical engineering principles (i.e., thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, reaction kinetics, etc.)
Self-motivatedย

Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Highly developed professional interpersonal skills to enable working with multiple nationalities and cultures in a positive way to achieve results.

Ability to work effectively independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multi-functional team, with all levels of colleagues as well as external business partners.
