As a Manager, you will provide management and direction to staff and resources and assist in the preparation and implementation of company policies and quality systems. Ensures responsiveness to the customer and overall client satisfaction. Ensures that staff develop to support department goals and business growth.
Serves as a key operational leader and cross-functional liaison to support alignment of business priorities and execution of site objectives. Provides leadership for Metrology department while collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure effective laboratory and facility operations, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
Essential Functions
• Oversees the daily activities of staff, including interviewing, selection, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching, and mentoring.
• Reviews and approves requests for paid time off, leave, overtime, and reviews timesheet reports for billing accuracy.
• Allocates, schedules, and manages laboratory resources for group project activities and updates project status and revenue projections.
• Regularly communicates project performance metrics, quality updates, and opportunities for staff development.
• Responsible for demonstrating process improvements and efficiency gains to meet department goals. Defines and monitors performance metrics for quality and productivity.
• Coordinates and prioritizes project activities with internal functional groups and support functions to ensure operational alignment and efficient execution.
• Serves as a key cross-functional liaison to support operational alignment and execution of site priorities.
• Provides leadership and oversight for the Metrology function, ensuring effective resource utilization, operational execution, and compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
• Supports laboratory and facility operations through collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Identifies new opportunities within the client base and works with Business Development to pursue opportunities.
• Participates in project definition and negotiations with clients on timelines and budgets.
• Participates in audits and department capability tours.
• Provides recommendations to clients on analytical and compliance issues.
• Reviews and approves laboratory investigations, deviations, and QA facility and data audits.
• Prepares and implements SOPs and company operational policies.
• Ensures adherence to quality systems and recommends process improvements.
• Accountable for the group's knowledge and application of GMP/GLP and other applicable laboratory, regulatory, and client requirements.
• Participates in bi-annual SOP reviews and owns implementation of changes required to maintain compliance.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5-8 years) or equivalent.
• 2+ years of management responsibility
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
