Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off 

Job Description:

In this role, you will learn to design, develop, integrate, test, and sustain electronics for maritime applications at the L3Harris Northampton, Massachusetts site. The internship will teach you to how to take designs from concept through released hardware, system-level integration, production support, and fielded-product sustainment. In this onsite role you will learn hands-on Circuit Card Assembly design with cross-functional execution in a production environment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Support senior engineers in the design, development, testing, and documentation of mixed-signal Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
  • Assist with reviewing requirements, conducting basic circuit analysis, selecting components, and developing verification approaches under engineering guidance.
  • Support engineering reviews of Printed Wiring Board layouts and help coordinate questions related to fabrication and assembly.
  • Assist with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, test, checkout, and evaluation of prototypes and production hardware.
  • Support development and use of test methods, test equipment, test sets, and cable harnesses used to verify electronic hardware.
  • Assist with EMI design, testing, troubleshooting, and corrective-action activities for CCAs and related electronic systems.
  • Support production and engineering teams by helping investigate electrical issues, document findings, and track corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, firmware, manufacturing, quality, supply-chain, and program teams during design, integration, and test activities.
  • Assist with engineering documentation, design reviews, trade studies, schedules, and technical presentations.
  • Gain familiarity with engineering tools and processes, including schematic capture, PCB layout review, circuit simulation, configuration management, and product-development practices.

Qualifications:

  • To be eligible, candidate's must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science degree or related technical degree at an accredited university.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Coursework, projects, or internship experience involving analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture, PCB layout, or circuit-simulation tools such as Mentor Graphics PADS/Xpedition, LTspice, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Basic knowledge of printed wiring boards, component selection, electronic test equipment, or laboratory practices.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as C, C++, Python, LabVIEW, VHDL, or Verilog.
  • Familiarity with FPGA-based electronics, microcontrollers, or digital signal processing.
  • Interest in electronics used in maritime, defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability applications.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, and electronic hardware design.
  • Interest in mixed-signal electronics, Circuit Card Assembly design, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic hardware testing, troubleshooting, and use of basic laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.

PAY TRANSPARENCY: In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $25.50/hour - $48.00/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
