Position Summary
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading all aspects of Blue Line Solutions' supply chain operations, including purchasing, planning, inventory management, logistics, vendor management, and ERP optimization. This role will develop and execute strategies that ensure the timely procurement, movement, and availability of materials required to support production, deployments, and company growth.
The Supply Chain Director will work closely with Production, Engineering, Construction, Service, Finance, and Executive Leadership to improve efficiency, reduce costs, strengthen supplier relationships, and ensure operational readiness across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing amp; Vendor Management
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliers and vendors.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and scorecards to evaluate quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Manage purchasing requirements across Production, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and other departments.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Planning amp; Forecasting
  • Lead Sales amp; Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and meetings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and align inventory and production plans.
  • Develop deployment schedules that support operational and customer commitments.
  • Monitor market trends and business activity to adjust inventory and procurement strategies.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions and material shortages.
  • Support ERP implementation and optimization initiatives.
Inventory Management
  • Establish and maintain inventory control processes across all company locations.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Develop KPIs and reporting metrics related to inventory performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve turns and reduce excess inventory.
  • Standardize inventory practices across Chattanooga, Knoxville, Hollywood, and future locations.
  • Lead inventory-related ERP initiatives and process improvements.
Logistics amp; Distribution
  • Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Coordinate shipments to support installations, deployments, and customer commitments.
  • Manage logistics providers, freight carriers, and subcontractor inventory activities.
  • Optimize transportation routes and logistics costs.
  • Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities to improve service levels.
  • Ensure material availability to prevent project delays and operational disruptions.
Leadership amp; Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain personnel.
  • Establish performance expectations and accountability standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Promote cross-functional communication and teamwork across departments.
Reporting amp; Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and present supply chain performance metrics to leadership.
  • Utilize ERP and reporting tools to drive data-based decision making.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain challenges and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to improve overall supply chain performance.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Qualifications
Education amp; Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience.
  • Experience overseeing purchasing, planning, inventory management, and logistics functions.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements.
