Job description

About the Company

SkySync is a rapidly evolving, fast-paced, venture-backed software innovator based in the Ann Arbor tech cluster with remote employees in all US time zones. Our sharp and innovative workforce excels at managing our customer's data migration, synchronization, and orchestration challenges like no other in our space and we have new product opportunities taking us toward a period of rapid growth.

As our processes evolve to adjust to rapid growth, we seek an additional Project Manager to work with stakeholders on the implementation of our product and management of their engagement. We need this new hire to support our highly proficient technical delivery team by bringing organization, visibility, and expectation management to our professional services engagements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a project manager, you will play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing services projects, as well as some internal projects. You will be accountable for managing client expectations and SkySync deliverables, in order to ensure project success.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

Develop and execute comprehensive project plans to track progress, maintain documentation and provide visibility to all stakeholders

Manage client relationship, establish clear project goals, and maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders throughout the project duration

Manage customer expectations of deliverables and negotiate project adjustments based on mutual financial agreements

Anticipate stakeholder changes to project scope, recognize common pitfalls, and mitigate by applying risk management techniques

Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations for improvements

Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

Minimum 2-years proven working experience in software project management

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

Preferred Experience:

Experience in multiple roles such as business analysis, technical writing, professional services or technical delivery, and customer relationship management.

Expert with project management and CRM tools

Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification

This position is a great fit for you if you are detail oriented, have creativity, and think critically. You also know how to handle competing priorities, potential distractions, and differing points of view. You empathize with customers and have a passion for delivering great user experiences.

This position is not a great fit for you like large organization stability, extensive hierarchies or matrix organizations, and a relatively unchanging set of duties and responsibilities. You also prefer environments which have a low level of distraction with many others in the organization to help you. You avoid conflict and making difficult decisions.

Qualities Needed for Success

Excellent analytical, listening and people skills are a must. You should be multi-disciplined and able to show an ability to learn technical skills quickly. You should be comfortable providing either complex technical details or high-level descriptions based on target audience. The ability to be decisive when confronted with shifting client expectations and keep the project within scope.
