A Brief Overview

Responsible for inventory management of raw materials, components and chemicals. Develops and maintains a master schedule for product lines to ensure sufficient finished goods inventory. Reviews material availability and lead times, production capacity, inventory carrying costs, and customer demand when developing schedules. Consults with other managers and key personnel in Sales & Marketing, Production and Supply Chain to gather information necessary to develop and maintain master schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain detailed production plans and schedules for raw materials, chemicals and components require to meet production objectives. Monitor and review forecasts and sales to ensure adequate inventory is available to meet customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventories. Evaluate and coordinate all inputs to master schedule: sales forecasts, customer orders, shop orders, purchase orders, capacity planning, firm plan and level load objectives, etc.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP system, periodically reviewing planning data maintained in the system. Develop procedures for use with ERP system and update as required. Provide training program for managers, supervisors, and staff personnel in use of ERP system as required
  • Maintain minimal to no backorders on all products released to market. Build and maintain inventory to levels agreed upon in management objectives. Perform analysis of materials and determine optimum control levels.
  • System data reviews. Proactively review system data to recognize potential bill of material inaccuracies and inventory discrepancies to ensure credible schedule development.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (in Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business or applicable)
  • Experience in purchasing, supplier management, operations, sourcing, demand planning
  • 5+ years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.).

  • Excellent negotiation skills and past experience with dealing with suppliers.
  • Extensive knowledge of current and advanced manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective presentation skills, and multicultural understanding required.

  • Flexible schedule and ability to travel.
  • High degree of competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Familiarity with an ERP system and common software applications.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.).
  • Experience coordinating multi-discipline activities.
