Job description

Maintenance Supervisor

As a Maintenance Supervisor you'll oversee maintenance operations, ensure the safe and efficient inspection, maintenance, and repair of company equipment. In this role you will be responsible for equipment readiness, repair quality, workforce productivity, safety compliance, and technician development to support operational performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Ensure preventive maintenance is completed on schedule and to company standards while partnering with the Maintenance Operations Coordinator to improve compliance and reduce backlog.

Lead shop meetings and shift communications to align teams on priorities, safety expectations, workload, and operational goals.

Prioritize maintenance activities, allocate resources, and oversee technicians to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

Coach, mentor, and evaluate employees while providing feedback that promotes accountability, performance, and growth.

Support employee development through training, skills advancement, career progression, and succession planning.

Partner with management, operations, vendors, and subject matter experts to resolve maintenance issues and support equipment availability.

Develop and implement maintenance processes that improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and resource utilization while reducing downtime.

Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Monitor maintenance activities, verify work quality, and ensure equipment is ready for service.

Maintain appropriate staffing levels and resources to safely and effectively meet maintenance demands.

Promote a clean, organized workplace by upholding 5S standards that support safe and efficient operations.

Ensure accurate documentation and consistent use of maintenance management systems, procedures, and best practices.

Authorize equipment return to service after confirming repairs meet safety, quality, and company requirements.

Monitor technician productivity, labor utilization, and overall work execution to maximize maintenance performance.

Lead root cause investigations, address repeat failures and rework, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and technician effectiveness.

Achieve equipment turnaround objectives by balancing repair quality, labor utilization, work prioritization, and resource allocation.

Qualifications

We are looking for a strong leader who brings maintenance expertise, communication skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. Ideal candidates will have:

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum three (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A valid driver's license is required.

Proven leadership experience supervising and developing maintenance personnel.

Intermediate knowledge of Email, Teams, Word and Excel.

Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs, equipment diagnostics, repair processes, and maintenance best practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Proficiency with maintenance management systems and standard business software.

Commitment to safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Your Work Schedule & Hours

Monday - Friday 8-5 pm (flexibility required)

Overtime as needed

Available on nights & weekends for emergency support

Hours may vary based on operational needs
