Job description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monday-Friday morning/day hours- weekends as needed
  • Supervise work activities of janitorial personnel in commercial and industrial establishments.
  • Leads, guides, and/or trains custodians in applicable procedures and techniques.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Must be available to work flexible shift hours including weekends.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as needed including: Dust, Mops Floors, Vacuum Carpets, Cleans Restrooms and restocking paper and soap supplies, Empties trash receptacles, and bags trash for proper disposal when necessary.
  • May purchase janitorial supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
  • Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding janitorial services and take corrective action.
  • Recommends personnel actions, such as hires and discharges, to ensure proper staffing.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training sessions as required.
  • Inspect potential worksites and create proposals.
  • Must perform other duites as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
