Job description

Pay:ย Hourlyย 

Position Details:ย Monday โ€“ Friday 7 am โ€“ 4 pmย ย 

Job Description:ย ย This summer internship experience is designed to broaden the knowledge and understanding of an aviation operating environment and includes internships in various areas. The internship is meant to give students realistic exposure to the work environment and decision-making opportunities. By applying to the Summer 2026 Internship Program, you are expressing interest in the internship program and could be considered for other internship opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match.ย Possible internshipsย include Facilities, Logistics, and Engineering. The internship program runs late-May/ early-June to Mid-August.ย ย 

Timeline:ย Applications will be reviewed following the closure of the application. Due to the high volume of applicants, pleaseย expect to hear back from us in a few weeks.ย ย 

Housing Requirements:ย All internships are on-site at KVBW Bridgewater. If youย resideย in a different state, you will need toย relocateย to be considered for an internship.ย 

Eligibility Qualifications:ย Interns must be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and have at least 1 full semesterย remainingย after the internship. Interns must be available to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks in Summer 2026.

Facilities (2 openings)

Job Responsibilities:ย ย 

  • Learn assigned department processes and proceduresย 

  • Assistย in processing paperwork for functional area according to established proceduresย 

  • Work individually or in a team under the guidance and instruction of the department supervisorย 

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations andย maintainย a safe and clean environmentย 

  • Operate power equipment (mowers, weed eaters, floor scrubbers, etc.)ย 

  • Routine inspections of the facility grounds, signage, equipment labelingย 

  • General cleaning and cleanliness of facilityย 

  • Mowing, weeding, mulching, and landscapingย 

  • Operating zero turn mowers, string trimmers, and power toolsย 

  • General organization of hangar facilities, keeping them neat and organized.ย ย 

  • General facilities maintenance such as painting and repairing windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures as neededย 

  • Basic mechanical activities performed is desiredย 

  • Minor repair and maintenance of shop tools/equipment as neededย 

  • Assistย in setting up for eventsย 

  • Attend all intern eventsย 

  • Contribute to company hosted events ย 

  • Local to the Bridgewater area or willing to commute as necessaryย 

  • Other duties as assignedย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • College student of any major and classย 

  • Ability toย operateย power equipment & toolsย 

  • Ability to adapt/respond appropriately to changing circumstancesย 

  • Physical ability to:ย ย 

  • Lift, balance, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.ย ย 

  • Stand for an extendedย period of timeย on a concrete floorย 

  • Work in harsh environmental conditions (extreme heat)ย

Logistics Team Internships:ย 

  • Warehousingย

  • Learn assigned department processes and proceduresย 

  • Assistย in processing paperwork for functional area according to established proceduresย

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations andย maintainย a safe and clean environmentย 

  • Maintainย accurateย Inventory Records and Stock Levelsย 

  • Follow directions and remain on task with minimal direct supervisionย 

  • Maintain incoming and outgoing parts transactions and movementsย 

  • Assistย warehousing team in warehouse cleanup and working large scale projectsย 

  • Conduct inventory researchย 

  • Partner and communicate with various departmentsย ย

  • Ability to read and understandย aircraftย parts and maintenance manuals for research purposes; knowledge of aviation terminology a plusย 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skillsย

  • Ability to work productively and efficiently without distraction in a fast-paced atmosphere to achieve deadlinesย

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations andย maintainย a safe and clean environmentย 

  • Prepare and provide approval for engineering data in accordanceย toย FAA, customer, and company specificationsย 

  • Track andย maintainย engineering and modification request formsย 

  • Assistย in coordinating activities and schedules of other engineering or technical personnel on various projects, as needed.ย ย 

  • Obtain and Prepare approval for engineering data in accordanceย toย customer specificationsย 

  • Coordinate material shipping and receiving for engineering (prototypes, materials, components)ย 

  • Assistย with modifications and repairs where neededย 

  • Assistย with support projects to improve productivity inside and outside the departmentย 

  • Interact with other engineers, managers, and clientsย ย 

  • Attend all intern eventsย 

  • Contribute to company hosted eventsย

Qualifications:ย 

  • Rising Junior or Senior enrolled in a Bachelorโ€™s Degree program in Engineeringย 

  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorksย
