Job description

AbelCine specializes in the sales, education, rental and service of film, HD and professional video camera equipment and related accessories. Our equipment line is supported by a technical staff with real-world production experience in both established and emerging formats.
We are currently seeking dynamic interns to work in our IT department. An internship with AbelCine will allow aspiring students to apply classroom skills in a stimulating real-life workplace and to gain insight into the inner workings of IT in a production environment.
Interns will have the opportunity to shadow and learn from our IT team while gaining hands-on exposure to the systems, tools, and processes that keep our technology running smoothly. Interns will not be directly responsible for IT operations but will observe, assist, and practice under supervision to build knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Our internships are on a part-time basis and are for college credit only (unpaid). No stipend will be provided. Written verification must be provided from your school that you will receive college credit for this internship.
Learning Opportunities:
  • Observe and support the IT team with daily tasks, such as troubleshooting hardware (computers, laptops, printers) and resolving on-site technical issues in the Brooklyn office.
  • Learn how to organize and manage physical equipment, including onboarding new and existing company computers and hardware into IT asset management software.
  • Gain exposure to network equipment testing and connectivity checks, shadowing IT staff as they diagnose and resolve issues.

Additional Development Areas:
  • Learn about Windows Endpoint Management through shadowing and assisting with the use of NinjaOne.
  • Explore cybersecurity concepts, including researching threat detection and notification configuration.
  • Understand how technical and network documentation is maintained and updated using NetBox.
