Job Description: Summer Student Aide - Maintenance Department
Location: Willcox, Arizona
Position Type: Temporary / Seasonal (Summer Months)
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Hours: Part-time or Full-time (as assigned)
Position Summary
Willcox Unified School District is seeking responsible and motivated student workers to assist the Maintenance Department during the summer months. This position provides hands-on experience in facility upkeep, grounds maintenance, and general labor while supporting district operations in preparation for the upcoming school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist maintenance staff with general repair and upkeep of district facilities
  • Perform basic custodial tasks including cleaning classrooms, hallways, and common areas
  • Help with groundskeeping duties such as mowing, weed removal, and trash collection
  • Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Assist with painting, minor repairs, and campus beautification projects
  • Maintain tools and equipment in clean and working condition
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications
  • Must be a current high school student or recent graduate (minimum age requirement is 16 per district policy)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Dependable with good attendance
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in summer heat conditions

Work Environment
