Football Sports Nutrition Assistant - Student Service

Job Summary
Football Sports Nutrition Student Assistant
Purdue Sports Nutrition supports the daily needs of the student-athletes, the department is seeking dependable, determined, initiative-oriented students to help carry out the Sports Nutrition Mission of providing high performance nutrition strategies that keep boilermaker student-athletes in the game and to ensure the best possible outcomes both on the field of competition and in life beyond athletics
Major Responsibilities
- Practice and training session support: making shakes, assist in fueling and recovery of the football student-athletes
- Stocking and taking inventory
- Shipment receiving
- Food service, catering assistance
- Provide hydration and fueling during practice
- Travel packing and unpacking
- Game day field and locker room setup
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a current Purdue student, nutrition majors preferred, enrolling in NUTR 245/345 highly preferred
- Good time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to perform manual labor which may include lifting, carrying and long periods of standing and/or walking
- High level of professionalism as a representative of Purdue Athletics
- Maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and other athletic department staff, including student-athletes and coaches
- Must be able to work independently and perform at a high level within a group
- Must be able to take initiative and anticipate needs of the student-athletes and coaches
- Students must follow all HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA, and Purdue University rules and regulations.
Availability and Time Commitment
- Ideally have some summer availability to support team workouts
- Students must be available for training camp: tentatively July 30 - August 30
- In-season - available for most practices during the week (3) and 1 weekend day, either game day or recovery day
