Job Description

General Summary:

The Senior Principal, Source to Pay Technology will provide technical expertise, delivery, and support for Source-to-Pay AI-powered technologies. This role will focus on the implementation and subsequent maintenance of Source to Pay Orchestration solutions and AI capabilities. This role will partner with business leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve business processes with innovative technology and data, gathering and refining requirements, determining options for solution design, delivering enhancements, supporting integrations, and contributing to technology projects and initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for business stakeholders on Source to Pay technology and AI solutions to support and enable the business goals and objectives

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their current and future state strategy, needs, and requirements from a global perspective

  • Implement AI capabilities in the Source to Pay space while meeting compliance, legal, and ethical standards, including data privacy and regulatory requirements

  • Proactively offer innovative technologies and solution ideas, and potential business process improvements in pursuit of driving efficiencies and meeting business needs

  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to collect and document user stories / requirements

  • Develop and document functional and technical aspects for integrations with upstream and downstream platforms

  • Design, perform and document system configurations within in-scope platforms and applications

  • Contribute to the creation and documentation of testing strategies and execution plans

  • Work with offshore team members and peers for platform support and technical development of enhancements and projects

  • Manage relationships with strategic software vendors and managed service providers (as needed)

  • Work closely with Privacy, DTE Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations, data integrity policies, and Vertex's system lifecycle and change management processes

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with Source to Pay technologies (e.g., Contract Lifecycle Management platform (Icertis), Third-Party Risk Management platform (ProcessUnity), Electronic Signature platform (Docusign), Procure-to-Pay platform (Coupa), and Source to Pay Orchestration tools)

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience implementing AI/ML technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into AI-driven solutions with measurable outcomes

  • Functional and technical expertise with application configurations, integrations, and documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze, and document complex business processes, translate business needs and functional requirements into technical or process-driven solutions

  • Self-directed individual who is able to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed team environment

  • Experience in program and project management, demand management, resource management and system lifecycle management

  • Results-oriented individual with a proven track record of on-time project delivery for large, complex projects with global stakeholders

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills

  • In-depth experience in design, development, and deployment of technology solutions using agile software development practices and dev/ops model

  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present in a clear and concise manner to various technical and non-technical audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems by collaborating across organizational boundaries

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent

  • 8+ years of work experience with relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working with implementation partners as well as managed services providers and/or offshore teams

Pay Range:

$188,000 - $282,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
