The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry cannot succeed without you. We are currently seeking a Renewables Performance Engineer to join our growing Distributed Energy Resources (DER) National team. Your passion, experience and endless curiosity are the drivers we need as we seek to grow our team across the United States.

Technical and Consulting Services:

  • Helping our clients improve efficiency and lower operating costs on new and exciting projects.
  • Ensuring buildings deliver maximize comfort for the life of the building.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance inspections on various DER projects including solar PV and BESS.
  • Conducting quality control inspections throughout Construction lifecycle.
  • Developing, managing and coordinating project-specific commissioning plans.
  • Performing commissioning activities on a variety of building systems including solar PV and BESS.
  • Verifying building system compliance to engineering specifications.
  • Reviewing system installation, functional performance and control systems operations.
  • Coordinating a variety of networking configurations and SCADA systems with DER projects.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading quality new construction commissioning projects and quality management
  • 3-5+ years of MEP experience
  • North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) professional certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to new project locations for Technical Services delivery.
  • Proven understanding and efficient use of building automation systems.
  • Proven understanding of Solar and BESS systems as well as all associated equipment (BMS, communications, Trackers, MV, required project testing).
  • Ability to read, understand and identify potential issues within construction documents.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Suite skills including Teams, Excel and Word. Procore and Cx Alloy proficiency is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, architectural, or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $84,060 - $129,580 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
