Job description

AMDA College of the Performing Arts is seeking dependable and motivated students to join the Costume Shop team for the Summer 2026 semester.
The Costume Shop supports all costume, hair, and/or makeup needs for AMDA productions and events. Student Workers assist professional staff with costume shop operations and production preparation while gaining hands-on experience in a creative and collaborative environment.Student Workers work alongside experienced staff who provide guidance and training. Sewing and makeup experience are not required, but a willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and reliability are essential.
Position Overview
The Costume Shop Student Worker supports daily costume shop operations and assists with preparation for AMDA productions. This role reports to the Costume Shop leadership team and requires organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with hand sewing, arts and crafts, and painting projects for costumes and productions
Support costume, hair, and makeup needs for AMDA productions
Crew productions as part of the costume, hair, and makeup team when needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized costume shop environment
Assist staff with shop organization and preparation for productions
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Currently enrolled AMDA student for the Summer 2026 Semester (employment in this department is open to 2nd - (employment in this department is open to 1st-8th semester students)
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
Highly motivated with a positive attitude
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn new skills

Must be enrolled for the Summer 2026 semester
Student employees are paid minimum wage in accordance with applicable state and local law
Work schedules are arranged around academic commitments
Student Worker positions are hired on a semester-to-semester basis and continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the current term
