Job description

The Lake Club Servers' first responsibility is to uphold the Martis Camp standard by ensuring quality service is delivered in a timely and professional manner. Confirming member needs are met, food and beverage orders are accurate and special food and beverage requests are accommodated when possible. Secondary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, communicating effectively with co-workers; maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment, and assisting in other areas of the Lake Club as needed. The Server will also seek opportunities to create memories by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and building relationships.
We have both part-time and full-time seasonal positions (late May to late September), and the work schedule includes weekends and holidays. The operating hours vary but could be from 8am-7pm, shift length normally 8 hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop a superior service attitude and presentation, understanding that positive interactions, a "can do" attitude, and the anticipation of needs is our guiding philosophy in providing "the member experience."
  • Greet all Members, Extended Family & their Guests attending to and anticipating their needs.
  • Completing opening and closing duties timely and thoroughly.
  • Checking accuracy and quality of food at the Food Truck and after it is delivered.
  • Sufficient knowledge of the Food Truck menu and food allergies.
  • Sufficient knowledge of bar menu, specialty cocktails, well liquor, wines by the glass and beer. General knowledge of available liquors and cordials.
  • Present on the floor inside, outdoor patio, or beach area during hours of food service.
  • Provide service that is detailed, attentive, and efficient.
  • Using proper serving techniques (serving open, marking, clearing)
  • Transmit orders to the bar and kitchen accurately and in a timely manner, identifying any specific dietary needs and special requests.
  • Maintain section while supporting the team, run food from the Food Truck and drinks from the bar and kitchen, clear, assist where needed and when possible.
  • Keep the culinary team informed by monitoring timing and progression of the meals.
  • Promptly address service issues and refer members to management when necessary.
  • Obtain revenue by charging the appropriate member account promptly in POS system.
  • Ability to multitask while working efficiently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail: lights, thoroughness, cleanliness, safety, etc.
  • Provide warm hospitality, professional advice, and assistance to all patrons.
  • Be informed on and promote all club activities and services.
  • Keep "the member experience" in mind when making all decisions.
  • Be part of a Team environment that crosses a multitude of hospitality disciplines.
  • Take part in keeping the Beach Shack clean and litter free. Cleanliness is everyone's esponsibility, not just housekeeping.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Martis Camp standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary by day of the week at certain times through the early and late summer seasons.
  • Comply with all Martis Camp standards and regulations to encourage and ensure a safe and efficient Beach Shack operation.
  • Perform other duties as required by your manager.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand for up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over varying surfaces (asphalt, sand, indoor flooring) for up to 200 yards at a time.
  • Must be able to repeatedly reach, bend, kneel, pull, push to assist with product storage, cleaning duties and food and beverage maintenance.
  • Must be California Food Handlers Safe Certified from an accredited source.
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends. Exposure to outside inclement weather conditions including summer sun.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (with or without accommodations)

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, sitting, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping.
  • Ability to carry food and beverage offerings in a safe and effective manner.
  • Communicate effectively with a commanding presence to ensure the safety of all beachgoers.
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends. Exposure to outside inclement weather conditions including summer sun.

WAGE RANGE: $17 - $22 per hour
