Job description

Create a warm, welcoming stay in the heart of Vail this summer. The Sonnenalp Hotel is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Turndown Attendant to join our talented housekeeping team for the summer season. In this role, you'll deliver polished turndown service and guest room care that reflects the comfort and detail Sonnenalp and LHW guests expect. Application Deadline: Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until August 15th or until the positions are filled.
Wage: $20.00/hour
Typical Schedule: 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Primary Purpose of Position
Clean, stock, and provide turn down service for guest rooms to ensure cleanliness and guest satisfaction by adhering to the Sonnenalp and LHW standards. Assist in cleaning any other area of the hotel as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organize work schedule to complete daily assignment of a minimum of 15 Guest rooms ensuring adherence to high quality inspection standards of at least 85%
  • Wipe down tub and sink area.
  • Strip and make beds, change linens as needed or requested by guests.
  • Turn down the beds and place robes and slippers in designated area.
  • Guests belongings need to be organized, clothes folded, and shoes paired.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room.
  • Vacuum entire room and empty trash.
  • Present turn down cookies and ensure waters have been refilled.
  • Align guest toiletries and items to appear more aesthetically pleasing and organized.
  • Respond in a timely manner to guest requests for items and/or other information.
  • Remove used linens and replace with clean linens.
  • Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance of room.
  • Assist the other attendants and housemen in keeping the closets clean.
  • Adhere to all LHW standards and attend required training sessions.
  • All lost and found articles must be turned in to supervisor or the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Assist in the cleaning of hallways, lights, public areas, outdoors, and other projects as assigned.
  • Speak with others using clear, respectful and professional language
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment
  • A passion for providing customer service
  • Flexible work schedule for weekdays, nights or weekends

Essential Physical Requirements
This role involves demanding physical abilities including but not limited to:
  • Must be able to stand for duration of shift
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25 lbs and have the ability to carry up to 50 lbs of heavy linen
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crawl
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
