Job Description Electrical Engineer - Decatur East Plant, Decatur ILThis is Salary Exempt position. Job Summary: Provide electrical engineering technical support in the day-to-day operation and longer-term improvement of a protein production facility that produces a diversified line of food ingredients. This includes using technical knowledge for design, installation, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment, with an emphasis on safety and reliability, in a manner that meets internal customer needs. Also provide coaching and guidance to other ADM colleagues and partner effectively at multiple levels of the organization.Essential Job Functions:Electrical Engineer for the plant supporting electrical equipment reliability through IR scans, trip testing, electrical failures, switch gear maintenance and as a resource working with Maintenance department Reliability Engineers.Build a pipeline of complex electrical improvement needed to support operations and increase reliability.Communicate and evaluate job scope against best practice with process and project engineers during project scope development.Audit and create recommendations for preventative and predictive maintenance improvements for all electrical infrastructural components including but not limited to transformers, mains, sub mains, MCC buckets.Oversee 3rd party electrical contractors by setting schedules for inspections, cleaning, and repair tasks.Review all PdMA data collection and make recommendations for repair or replacement.Monitor all UPS / battery backup systems PM activities, and upgrade system as needed to increase reliability.Document all transformer oil status and include results in Maximo.Support all electrical and instrument PM programsJob Qualifications:BSEE or equivalent with 2+ years of significant engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing facilityPersonal value and commitment to safety demonstrated in all aspects of workStrong engineering knowledge including but not limited to industrial electrical systems (ranging from low to very high voltage power distribution systems), National Electrical Code and exposure to process controls. Ability to read and decipher regulations and industry codes and explain requirements to othersHelp prepare project cost estimates, prepare documents for authorization for expenditure, and implement elements of electrical upgrade project.Knowledge of power generation systems and equipment a plus.Organizational skills, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsAbility to accomplish results by working effectively with others and willingness and ability to work in all plant areas (i.e. walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces)Hands-on approach to workAbility to respond quickly to changing requirements and capability to work in hot and cold temperatures Working Conditions:DustChemicals / IrritantsThe scope of the position requires exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followedInside areas:Spring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degreesFall / Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezingOutside areas:Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity; may be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and windFall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below; may be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow, and windSome manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shiftPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to thirty (30) pounds on a frequent basis, up to fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basisLifting or carrying of weights over fifty (50) pounds is rare; employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than fifty (50) poundsAbility to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a work dayAbility to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently during the course of a work day; may require periods of prolonged sitting or standingAbility to operate equipment or diagnose/detect issues of machinery that may be located at different heights; may require work on ladders, scaffolding, or other work at heightsFull range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools and electrical test equipment, to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and to work at heightsExcited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
