Various Internships & Co-Ops in Woodburn, IN

The Manufacturing Interns & Co-Ops will support daily operations within a manufacturing facility while gaining hands-on experience in production processes, quality standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. This internship is designed for college students interested in manufacturing, engineering, operations, data science, supply chain, or related fields and can be taken during Spring 2027, Summer 2027, or Fall 2027.

This opportunity is in Woodburn, Indiana in our BF Goodrich tire plant. Woodburn is a small town located about 30 mins east of Fort Wayne, IN. Fort Wayne is the cultural and economic center of northeastern Indiana and the second largest city in Indiana. Established in 1961, our plant makes passenger and light truck tires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist production teams with daily manufacturing activities.
  • Observe and learn manufacturing processes and equipment operations.
  • Support quality inspections and documentation efforts.
  • Help collect and analyze production data.
  • Participate in safety meetings and follow all facility safety procedures.
  • Assist with inventory tracking and material movement as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects and team assignments.
  • Perform general administrative and operational support tasks.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
  • Interest in manufacturing, engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
