Position Information
Job Title Summer Resident Assistant Position Summary
Residence Life is looking for students to be in the residence halls during the summer months to be able to support and be a resource to students living on-campus. You will also gain experience by assisting with various camps and facilities operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend regular one-on-one meetings with supervisor.
  • Attend weekly staff meeting.
  • Facilitate regular interactions and programming to support summer residents.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Assist with room and common space cleaning.
  • Assist with camp and conference operations.
  • Assist with occupancy and key management.
  • Manage Residence Life social media accounts.
  • Conduct room inspections prior to end of summer.
  • 1 year living on-campus is needed for this position.
  • Due to the constant changes to the working environment in this position, additional duties may be added or retracted from the current job description at the time the need arises. The student will be informed upon changes.


Education, Certifications and/or Licenses Experience
  • Must have and maintain both a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be a current, full-time Texas Wesleyan University student

  • Ability to write standard correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to current and prospective students and University employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work with a rotating schedule consisting of weekends, late nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
