Directions for Youth amp; Families is seeking an energetic, creative, and enthusiastic Part-Time Recreation Coordinator to join our After-school Program team. This position is responsible for planning and leading recreational and fitness activities that promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, leadership, and positive youth development in a structured afterschool environment.

The Recreation Coordinator will create engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage physical fitness, build confidence, and foster communication, sportsmanship, and positive relationships among youth ages 8โ€“18.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and facilitate structured recreational and fitness activities for youth ages 8โ€“18.
  • Develop creative lesson plans that promote physical activity, teamwork, leadership, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Instruct and engage youth in a variety of sports, fitness, and recreational activities
  • Encourage teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, and positive decision-making through recreational programming.
  • Supervise groups of youth in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
  • Complete required daily documentation
  • Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and occasional special events.

Schedule:

Mondayโ€“Friday

School Year: 3:00 p.m. โ€“ 8:00 p.m.

Summer Program: 8:00 a.m. โ€“ 4:00 p.m.

Occasional evenings or schedule adjustments may be required for team meetings and special events.

Location:

Columbus, Ohio

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, exercise science, health and fitness, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience facilitating recreational or fitness activities and working with youth is required.
  • Knowledge of a variety of sports, games, and physical fitness activities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
