Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, the Hawaii Keiki (HK) Health Technician is responsible for coordinated school health tasks including; coordinating school wide screenings with community partners, health and wellness promotion, data collection and disease surveillance, coverage of the health needs of students, data entry and health education as requested. Will facilitate virtual and/or in person visits with a HK Nurse Practitioner (APRN). May cover school health rooms following Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) protocol as requested and approved by HK supervisor and school administration.

Location: Molokai Middle School, Hana-Lahainaluna-Lanai-Molokai Complex Area
Hours per week: 32.5; Mon-Fri 7:30am-2:30pm
Pay rate: $22.25 per hour
Paid leave: Spring, fall and winter breaks according to the school calendar
**This position is not scheduled to work during the summer break.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training/Experience
Minimum
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in a health related field or equivalent job related work experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or current BLS Certification
  • Experience working in a clinical setting.
Knowledge/Skills
Minimum
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
