Promontory has received universal acclaim as a destination where life’s greatest moments naturally unfold. Spanning more than 11 square miles and supported by an investment of more than 400 million dollars in world class amenities, Promontory offers an unmatched collection of experiences for members and their families in every season.

From championship golf and award winning dining to skiing, fitness, outdoor adventure, and family programming, Promontory is designed to deliver extraordinary moments at every touch point. The golf experience sits at the center of that lifestyle, and our team plays a vital role in ensuring every round reflects the standards of one of the premier private club communities in the country.

Promontory Club is seeking motivated and service driven individuals to join our Outside Golf Operations team for the summer season, typically running from early May through late October. This position provides the opportunity to work in a world class private club environment while gaining valuable experience in hospitality and golf operations.

For individuals interested in pursuing a career in golf or hospitality, this role can serve as the first step within Promontory’s professional development pathway.

Team members assist in all areas of outside golf operations including the cart barn, bag room, practice facility, starter operations, course monitoring, and the arrival podium. This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a proactive hospitality mindset. The goal is not simply to operate the facility but to create an experience where members feel welcomed, cared for, and excited to return.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain awareness of the daily tee sheet and monitor updates throughout each shift

Prepare and stage golf carts to meet Promontory presentation standards

Assist members and guests with golf bags and equipment in the bag room

Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cart barn and staging areas

Support operations at the podium and practice facilities

Assist the starter in managing tee time flow and communication with members

Monitor the golf course to support pace of play and enhance the member experience

Maintain practice facility presentation including range ball management and setup

Ensure radios, carts, and operational equipment are functioning and ready

Communicate effectively with the professional staff regarding member needs or operational updates

Service Expectations

At Promontory, hospitality is not simply a task. It is a mindset.

Team members are expected to deliver service that is attentive, proactive, and genuine. The best team members anticipate needs before they are spoken, take pride in the details, and consistently look for ways to elevate the member experience.

Members should feel welcomed the moment they arrive and confident that every detail of their golf experience is being taken care of.

Promontory Dogma

We lead through servant presence, protecting standards while elevating people, culture, and the member experience every day.

This philosophy guides the way we work, how we support each other as teammates, and how we serve our membership.

What Great Looks Like

Members are greeted immediately with energy and professionalism

Golf carts and staging areas are immaculate and prepared ahead of time

Team members anticipate needs before they are requested

Practice facilities are organized and fully stocked throughout the day

Communication with members is confident, friendly, and helpful

Pace of play is supported in a positive and respectful manner

Every member interaction reflects pride in the Promontory experience

Opportunity for Growth

Promontory takes pride in developing future leaders within the golf industry. Many successful golf professionals begin their careers in outside operations, learning the fundamentals of service, teamwork, and club operations.

For those interested in pursuing a career in golf, opportunities may include involvement in lesson programs, junior camps, club fitting experiences, and retail operations. Individuals who demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a strong service mentality will find opportunities for continued growth within the Promontory golf team.

Why Promontory

Promontory is more than a club. It is a community built around relationships, experiences, and a commitment to excellence.

Working at Promontory means being part of a team that takes pride in delivering extraordinary experiences for members and their families while developing the next generation of leaders in the golf industry.
