About This Role

Science Akadémeia is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Summer Camp Counselors to join our team for our STEM-focused summer camp program. Counselors will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children explore science, engineering, robotics, nature, and creative problem-solving through hands-on activities.

This role is ideal for college students pursuing education, science, engineering, computer science, psychology, or related fields, and for individuals who enjoy working with young children in an active learning environment.


What You'll Do
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
  • Assist with daily STEM-based camp activities, including science experiments, engineering challenges, robotics, and creative projects
  • Lead small group activities and encourage participation and teamwork
  • Support camp instructors and staff in preparing materials and organizing activities
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful camp environment
  • Assist with transitions between activities, meals, and outdoor play
  • Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness
  • Communicate respectfully with staff, campers, and families

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Current college student or recent graduate preferred
  • Interest in working with children in an educational environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Energetic, reliable, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to supervise groups of children in both indoor and outdoor settings
  • Must pass a DECAL comprehensive background check
  • Must complete the DECAL Health and Safety Training (online) prior to working with children
  • Must attend the mandatory orientation the week prior to camp

Must be available Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the camp dates
