The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for th e 2025-26 s chool year:
GOSHEN COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Aquatics Center Summer Lifeguard
POSITION PURPOSE: A Lifeguard is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the students and guests using swimming pool. A Lifeguard's major responsibility is to observe swimmers and enforce regulations in the guarding of life and the prevention of accidents at the Aquatics Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor activities at the pool to prevent accidents.
  • Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
  • Administer First Aid.
  • Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Follow emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas.
  • Inspect facilities for cleanliness; complete general pool cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Check in guest and inspect equipment
  • Provide general information on pool operation
  • Maintain an acceptable appearance and attitude at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years of age or have valid Indiana Work Permit
  • Valid Lifeguard Certification (Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED)
QUALITIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Attend all training and staff meetings
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from patrons, or fellow staff

WORK CALENDAR: June & July only, hours will depend on scheduling and availability and could be up to 40 hours per week.
SALARY: $16.00 per hour
