OUR STORY

SummerCollab co-creates youth programs that energize kids to love learning, play wildly and believe in the power of their unique talents. We envision a world filled with imaginative, confident young people who believe in their unique talents, intelligence and unlimited possibility. Our signature programs, Tylers Camp, Literacy Corps, Community Mentor Network and Collaborative Clubs, provide new experiences and rich activities designed to narrow learning gaps in low income communities. We focus on cultivating self-worth, self-discovery, and meaningful human connection. Through these programs, kids learn to be vulnerable, persistent and curious while exploring new experiences. A side effect of this work is improved confidence, academic engagement and performance.


YOUR ROLE

CollabClubs provide youth with access to all three of SummerCollabs signature programs. Families will have the opportunity to have their child receive mentoring, literacy support, and/or participate in a variety of our academic clubs. As the site leader, you will assist the Program Operations Director with the daily supervision of the assigned site.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct supervision and direction of CollabClub staff on-site
  • Maintain proper staff to youth ratios and youth supervision
  • Plan and facilitate social emotional learning activities
  • Plan and facilitate provided literacy curriculum for scheduled literacy interventions
  • Plan and facilitate provided curriculum for scheduled academic clubs
  • Lead the site in facilitating all required assessments and ensure proper tracking of results
  • Ensure proper site attendance is collected and accurate in Procare
  • Assist with recruitment of youth into CollabClubs at assigned site
  • Develop and maintain relationships and communication with all families enrolled at the assigned site
  • Work closely with the school representative to maintain open communication through all programming


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

SummerCollab seeks positive, passionate educators with the desire to motivate youth to learn and grow. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible and open to constructive feedback, willing and eager to build upon practices as an educator. He/she will demonstrate strengths in communication and classroom management, as well as the ability to address classroom challenges quickly and effectively. Experience working with children is required, and experience working with children in grades K-8 is preferred. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, a strong belief in student-centered learning, and the drive to help program participants become excited about learning! This position is required to meet the OCCL's qualifications for School-Age Administrator:

  • At least 20 years of age
  • A high-school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of 12 college credits in recreation, elementary education, school-age care or school-age administration with 6 months experience working in a group setting with students K-6th grade.

  • Completion of 6 college credits in recreation, elementary education, school-age care or school-age administration and the School-Age Bundle offered by the DIEEC with 6 months experience working in a group setting with students K-6th grade.

-OR-

  • Completion of School-Age Bundle offered by the DIEEC with 12 months experience working in a group setting with students K-6th grade.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a year-round position. Staff will work varied hours based on the time of year - on days when school is in session hours of work are 6:45am-8:15am and 3:00pm-6:15pm. During the school year, there will be days of school closure/holidays when working hours will be between 7am-6pm. During summer operation, hours will be between 8:00am and 4:00pm. CollabClub Site Leaders are compensated with an hourly rate between $22-25 per hour. Any employment offers are contingent upon satisfactory completion of required background checks, training and the required OCCL adult health appraisal. This position requires the ability to get to multiple locations across New Castle County with reliable transportation.
