Summary or Purpose
This position is designed for high school students ages 14-18 interested in gaining work experience when school is not in session (summer/winter break).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Accomplish the duties and responsibilities of their position and to perform all work in accordance with directives and established standards.
Possess, utilize and develop the knowledge, expertise and skills requisite for their position.
Be punctual, regular in attendance and to comply with Borough policy and procedure as well as departmental work rules,
Observe the rules of safety with regard to equipment, vehicles and the workplace.
Preserve, protect and conserve Borough property and resources.
Work effective, amenably and courteously with all persons, including supervisors, subordinates, co-workers, customers and the public at large.
Contribute measurably to the accomplishment of their unit's mission.
Comply with federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations that apply to the performance of the employees' duties and responsibilities.
Applicants must comply with Alaska Department of Labor requirements for minors.
Perform all duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required
Must be enrolled in high school and between ages of 14 and 18.
All minors ages 14-16 must obtain a work permit through the State of Alaska Department of Labor
Ability to pass FBI fingerprint background check within 60 days of hire. (Police only)
