What are summer intern researchers?

Summer intern researchers are students or recent graduates who work on research projects during the summer months, typically at universities, research organizations, or private companies. Their main role is to assist in ongoing research efforts, gain hands-on experience in their field of interest, and develop new skills under the supervision of experienced researchers. These internships are usually temporary, lasting from a few weeks to a few months, and may be paid or unpaid.
