Interior Designer

About Our Client

Our client is a high-end residential interior design studio creating timeless, deeply personal homes. They are a people-first business - clients trust them with their homes and their stories, and they deliver an experience that feels as considered as the spaces they design. They work end-to-end, from concept and construction documentation through sourcing, procurement, and white-glove installation and styling.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an Interior Designer to manage projects from concept through installation. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role for a designer who is equally confident drafting in CAD, reviewing construction drawings on-site, sourcing furnishings, and managing complete FF&E schedules. The ideal candidate will serve as a key point of contact internally and maintain a polished, professional presence with clients and trade partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and documentation of residential projects from concept through construction and installation.

  • Produce accurate, organized CAD drawings including floor plans, elevations, millwork details, lighting and electrical plans, and construction documentation.

  • Collaborate with architects, builders, and trades; review shop drawings; conduct site visits; and resolve field conditions as needed.

  • Source and specify furniture, fixtures, lighting, textiles, and finishes that align with project design intent, budget, and lead-time requirements.

  • Build and manage comprehensive FF&E schedules and coordinate with procurement teams to finalize purchasing details.

  • Develop concept boards, material palettes, and presentation packages that effectively communicate design vision to clients.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.

  • Support installation and styling activities to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and are photo-ready.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of residential interior design experience, preferably within a high-end or custom residential design environment.

  • Strong CAD proficiency (AutoCAD and/or similar platforms) with the ability to independently create detailed, construction-ready drawing sets.

  • Hands-on construction experience with the ability to read, interpret, and redline drawings and work comfortably on active job sites.

  • Proven sourcing expertise with strong knowledge of vendors, trade resources, and quality furnishings and finishes.

  • Full-cycle FF&E experience including specification, procurement, tracking, delivery, and installation coordination.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.

  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 3D rendering and visualization tools such as SketchUp, Revit, Enscape, or similar software.

  • Familiarity with design management and procurement platforms such as Programa or Notion.

  • Knowledge of Arizona construction practices, local trades, building codes, and permitting processes.

Employment Details
  • Full-time, hybrid position.

  • Combination of remote work, project site visits, showroom visits, client meetings, and team collaboration.

  • Arizona-based candidates preferred with availability for regular in-person meetings and site visits.

  • Saturday installation availability required (approximately one installation per quarter), with a compensatory Monday off following installation weekends.

  • $1,500 annual professional development budget, including paid conference attendance.

  • Trade discounts on personal purchases and employee discounts on design services for immediate family.
