Opportunity, Overview, and Expectations:

Welcome to the Courier Newsroom 2026 Internship Program! We're thrilled to offer this opportunity for current college and university students to work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining invaluable skills and knowledge.

Our program is slated to run from June 2026, through August 2026, with flexibility to accommodate school obligations. This year presents an exciting opportunity for COURIER interns to assist in shaping outreach to Gen Z and local communities while collaborating with our newsrooms on innovative problem-solving initiatives. This internship isn't just about COURIER; it's about empowering our interns with real-world experience at the forefront of digital media.


Interns will have the chance to work closely with Courier reporters, contributing to local news coverage and engaging audiences through various digital platforms. From video production to graphic design and digital newsletters, interns will gain hands-on experience in every aspect of modern journalism.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

We're seeking ambitious and eager interns who are passionate about journalism, politics, and the digital media landscape. The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and major social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and multitask effectively.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and creativity in adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Professionalism and innovation in approach.
  • Availability to work a maximum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility based on schedules.


Program Requirements:

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of internship with an end date of August 31, 2026
  • Be fully remote/virtual.
  • Work 15-20 hours per week.


Interns must reside in the state corresponding to their assigned newsroom.
