Center for Prevention and Health Promotion Graphic Designer Position Description

Accountability

The Graphic Designer will report to the Programs and Promotions Specialist for the Center for Prevention and Health Promotion

Scope of Responsibility

The Center for Prevention and Health Promotion is dedicated to the prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) and interpersonal violence (IPV) and promoting mental health and wellbeing at UW-Stevens Point. The graphic designer will be responsible for planning, development, design, and production of various print mediums for these topics.

Graphic Designer Responsibilities

Job responsibilities

1. Responsible for planning, development, design, and production of various print mediums for the Center for Prevention and Health Promotion

2. Knowledge of current trends in graphic design

3. Serve as a resource person as related to design and marketing of materials.

4. Edit, proofread and revise written materials as needed.

5. Be knowledgeable of printing aspect of production.

6. Create a work schedule consisting of 6-8 hours per week.

7. On occasion, be flexible with evening/weekend hours, which may be needed to complete projects as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Excellent organizational and communication skills.

2. The ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

3. A high degree of personal judgment.

4. Decision-making abilities and attention to detail.

5. Proficient skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office Package, SharePoint or similar content management web page program.

6. Able to properly prepare projects for printing.

7. Must be able to work 6-8 hours per week during academic year and some summer break (can work from a remote location)

8. Must have at least two semesters remaining at UWSP, and must be at least a part time student.
