Job Description / Essential Elements:
DEFINITION: Under the general supervision of a site administrator, as coordinated by the Head Coach, assume the responsibility for coaching/training student athletes in the designated sport.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in organizing and coordinating all phases of a sports program including in-season, off-season, and summer. E
2. Assist in teaching athletes to perform sound, safe fundamental techniques of a designated sport throughout the season. E
3. Ensure adherence to rules and regulations governing high school athletics, as well as school policies. E
4. Supervise athletes during practices, at home and away games. E
5. Maintain accurate records as required, which could include but not be limited to team lists, score books, statistics, etc.
6. Maintain, inventory and assist in ordering all equipment needed for all phases of a designated sport program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
โข Planning, organization and directing the designated sport
โข The training program required for the designated sport
โข The rules of the designated sport
โข C.I.F. regulations as they apply to the sport and athletic program
as a whole
โข District policies, regulations and operations
โข High school rules, procedures, and practices
Ability to:
โข Demonstrate strong scheduling and organizational skills
โข Communicate effectively with students and parents, orally and in
writing
โข Diffuse difficult situations, counsel students
โข Use tact, patience and courtesy
โข Effectively supervise students
โข Apply and explain school rules, regulations, policies and
procedures
Experience/Education:
โข Competitive experience in the sport desirable
โข Previous coaching experience desirable
โข Previous work with adolescent age students desirable
Other Certificates/Credentials:
โข Current First Aid and CPR certification required
โข Teaching credential desirable

Requirements / Qualifications
- Certificate Copy ((FUNDAMENTALS IN COACHING CERTIFICATE))
- Certification ((NFHS CONCUSSION CERTIFICATE))
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Only Red Cross Certification Accepted (must cover Adult and Child))
