Are you looking to get an inside look into public accounting with a firm that treats their interns like first year staff? SEK may be the perfect fit for you!


We are currently looking for students for our Spring 2027 Tax Internship Program across our entire footprint. Interns are a valuable resource to SEK. They are treated like first-year staff and have the opportunity to work on a variety of engagements under the supervision of firm management.


The internship runs from approximately January through April 15th. The internship schedule can be flexible working around students' courses, with about 20 - 32 expected hours per week. Many students are able to take our internship for credit, reducing their class load.


All internships are on-site at our office locations. You will speak about what office preference would be best for you during the recruiting process.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tax returns and other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Attend training workshops when available.
  • Maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
  • Adhere to firm’s policies, procedures, rules, regulations and code of ethics.
  • Develop working knowledge of software programs.
  • Demonstrate professional etiquette and develop efficient work habits.


We hope that the internship experience will lead to an increase in confidence and professional skills as well as greater familiarity with the business environment and a better understanding of the importance of teamwork. The firm looks to fill full-time opportunities with our top performing interns.

Requirements:
  • Accounting Major
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Career plans to obtain 150 credits and sit for the CPA exam.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capable of excelling in individual and team projects.
  • Desire to want to pursue a career in public accounting.
