OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: Distribution Center Supervisor's help drive the continued success of our Distribution Centers (DC) by working safely and efficiently to support all functions of the DC. Distribution Center Supervisors in conjunction with the DC Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional training, creating a safe work environment, and ensuring the activities of the DC run smoothly and meet company standards.
JOB SUMMARY: Distribution Center Supervisors are responsible for mastering and training the skills necessary to work within the fast-paced and detailed environment. Distribution Center Supervisors will perform various daily management duties by overseeing, directing, and coordinating all activities of the DC to ensure the demands of customers are met on a continual basis. Success in this role is measured in the supervisor's ability to support the facilities team members and efficiency of the facility, providing excellent customer service, and promote an atmosphere of teamwork within the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain a safe and clean facility and use safety first practices to remain accident-free
  • Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and vests
  • Recognize and resolve customer issues or complaints by determining optimal solutions in a timely manner
  • Manage daily activities of the distribution center, including oversight of team members and ensuring productivity goals and KPIs are met
  • Responsible for managing the DC P&L
  • Conduct and facilitate on-boarding of new employees including activities regarding "Best Day Ever"
  • Effectively manage employee turnover. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching employees. Recommend personnel changes as necessary
  • Facilitate and coordinate compliance with required CBT courses associated with all DC personnel
  • Delegate tasks as needed and follow-up with employees to ensure that tasks are being completed
  • Prepare the weekly payroll submission and assure accurate information is being submitted
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory including meeting company shrink or loss goals
  • Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards
  • Maintain company attendance standards
  • Other tasks as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years' experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
    • 2+ years' experience supervising and training 15+ employees
  • Requirements:
    • Must have valid driver's license
    • Must have clean and consistent record of safety
    • Forklift Certification

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: Ability to learn and operate all facility equipment including computers, and retreading machinery
    • Soft Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, time management and delegation skills, organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Regularly required to talk and hear
    • Regularly standing and walking, with some bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
    • Ability to occasionally move and handle tires weighing up to 100 lbs.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. While performing the duties, the employee is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, high-concentrated cleaning solutions, and human waste.
