Position Summary
The Student - Baseball Field Maintenance Aide is responsible for assisting in the operation baseball field maintenance.
Position is open until filled with applications reviewed upon receipt and may close at any time.
Note: Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Uses baseball field maintenance tools as needed to rake the infield, make repairs, and perform general upkeep
Lays down bases, places chalk along baselines, assures scoreboards operate properly, and when necessary, places tarp on the field
Observes and enforces all rules and regulations of the assigned facility
Communicates information accurately to assigned supervisor in a timely manner
Seeks assistance from supervisor as needed
Multi-tasks and organizes, prioritizes, and follows multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
Attends all baseball practices
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer
Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher
Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Ability to handle inquires and problems efficiently and direct to the proper staff member
Ability to report for work on time and notify the appropriate individual in advance if unable to work
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision, outdoors with exposure to varying climatic conditions. Will include evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
