As a summer bartender, you take orders and mix drinks for a bar, restaurant, or nightclub. This is a temporary or seasonal position that is most common in areas that have a lot of tourists during the summer. Otherwise, you have similar duties to a regular bartender. You may take inventory, interact with guests, enforce regulations, and oversee other staff members. Some details of this job depend on where you work. Some restaurants may require bartenders to have little direct interaction with guests, while bartenders in nightclubs often work in high volume, noisy, or visually distracting environments.
