Job description

Michigan-based Heavy Civil Subsurface Specialty Contractor with offices in Michigan and South Florida seeks Heavy Civil Project Manager for Public Projects which are generally concentrated in Midwest. Our client's specialty is working within difficult soil and rock conditions. Corporate culture does reward individuals who demonstrate values of hard work, commitment, open-mindedness to new ideas, and mindset for continuous learning and improvement. Candidate must also have interpersonal and excellent oral/written communication skills. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Project Manage Large Heavy/Civil projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
  • Heavy Civil Subsurface Construction Strengths to include:
    • Geotechnical/Soils Engineering, including Soil Stabilization
    • Structural Analysis of Earth Retention Systems
    • Structural Concrete
    • Experience with Deep Shaft and Tunneling Earth Retention Systems
    • Subsurface Dewatering Methodology and Cost
    • Trenchless, Soft, and Rock Tunneling Methodologies by Tunnel Boring and Micro-Tunneling methods.
    • Deep Open Cut Installations
  • Help prepare final quantity and price estimates
  • Cost budgeting, tracking labor production, and cost control reporting
  • QA/QC management
  • Negotiate the Subcontractor's scope and pricing
  • Proficient with HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job, Agtek, Primavera, and Microsoft Office Systems
  • 5 years minimum of practical experience in Heavy Civil Subsurface Construction.
