Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Project Manager to lead impactful infrastructure projects that improve safety, reduce risk, and support critical community infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to lead full project lifecycles, from proposal through delivery, managing teams, building client relationships, and delivering high-quality utility data and mapping.

The ideal candidate has experience in SUE or a related field and a strong interest in utility investigation and coordination. You’ll deliver projects in accordance with ASCE 38-22 and Colorado SB 18-167, setting the standard for quality and compliance.


Responsibilities

Project & Technical Leadership

  • Lead SUE projects from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, QA/QC, and deliverables.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes, and budgets.
  • Ensure accurate utility data collection, mapping, and reporting (designating reports, test hole reports, CAD files).
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to assess feasibility and requirements.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage and mentor SUE staff in the field and office.
  • Coordinate staffing, workload, and schedules to meet project demands.
  • Monitor team performance, utilization, and project progress.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

Client & Business Development

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships, supporting marketing and networking efforts.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to expand services and identify new opportunities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to assigned staff.
  • Lead project teams to successful, high-quality outcomes.
  • Identify training opportunities to enhance staff effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of SUE or related experience, including project management.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in ASCE 38-22 and Colorado SB 18-167 compliance.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation: $112,640 to $166,320 per year (Depending on qualifications)
