Substitute Custodian (District-Wide)
Regional School District No. 1 is seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our team as Substitute Custodians. Substitute custodians play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments for students, staff, and visitors throughout the district.
Assignments are available on an as-needed basis at schools across Regional School District No. 1. Candidates should be reliable, flexible, able to work independently, and committed to providing excellent service.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, stairwells, and other areas of school buildings.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general custodial duties.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and maintain a clean environment.
  • Deliver supplies and materials to classrooms and other locations.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for school events and activities.
  • Assist with securing the building at the end of assigned shifts.
  • Perform other related custodial duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and dependability.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous custodial or facilities experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation: Hourly rate varies by school assignment and the applicable wage schedule.
Schedule:
  • As-needed substitute assignments.
  • Up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Day and evening assignments may be available depending on district needs.

Benefits: This is a substitute position and is not eligible for benefits.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
